(October 1, 2026) Winter Haven, FL- Day 1 of the 30th Annual Centurion World Wake Surfing Championship (WWSC) presented by GM Marine went off with a bang! Towed by the 2027 Centurion RS245, riders from around the globe came together at the WWSC and threw their best tricks hoping to clinch a spot in semi-final and final rounds.
In the Pro Men Surf division, Team Centurion athletes, Tommy Darnell, Jake Breedlove, Sammy Goncalves and Tyler Stewart took home the top scores in their heats clinching their spots in the final round of competition. Their teammates Tripp Allen and Keenan Flegel will compete alongside Ji Myungkon, Cobe Matthews, Pub Miyamoto and Kenta Nakayama in the last chance qualifier round today, October 2.
The Pro Female Surf Division brought major heat. Team Centurion athletes Kenzie Hickey, Bostyn Hall and Brynlee Hall, along with Sunhwa Kim, punched their ticket to the final round of competition. Their teammate Cali Nance alongside Kim Chaeyeon, Runa Abiko, Rena Abiko, and Kahla Archibald will compete Friday in the LCQ round for their shot at the final round.
In the Pro Male Skim division, Team Centurion athlete, Tyler Stewart secured his spot in the final round of competition with an impressive run. Jett Lambert, Dylan Matthews, and Reed Cole-Tucker will join him in finals. Team Centurion athletes, Luke Hutcherson, and Sean Silveira, along with Cade Lybeck and Ryan Deese will throw down in the LCQ round for a shot at a spot in the final round of competition.

The action didn’t stop after day 1 one of Worlds! Team Centurion riders went head-to-head in a friendly round of competition during the Centurion ActionGlow Moonlight Showdown. In pairs, athletes put together creative surf routines that they shredded with their ActionGlow lit boards.
All the athletes lit up the water but there was only one champion team. Sammy Goncalves and Ava Stewart, team Vote for Pedro took home first place in the Centurion ActionGlow Moonlight Showdown for their style, creativity, and Napolean Dynamite inspiration. Way to go team!
