Hi, I’m Tommy Darnell, professional wake surf athlete from Northern California. I have been on a board since the ripe age of 4 starting with surfing tandem on my dad’s board, took up wakeboarding for a couple of years, and skateboarded my way across every park in Placer County until I discovered wake surfing in 2015. I started competitively wake surfing in 2019 in the youth division and have been riding the wave ever since and now compete with some of my closest friends around the world as a pro.

My biggest fans are my family, you can find them at most events cheering me on from the shore or dock. I wouldn’t be where I am today without their support and the backing of my generous sponsors: Centurion Boats, BLUSURF, Elusive Eyewear, Wakesurfcali, Mello Marine, FLYTWake and Waxtrak.

I spend my weekends at our houseboat on the California Delta practicing new tricks behind the incredible Centurion Ri230 and sharing the sport with my friends. Off the water I enjoy fishing, snowboarding, skateboarding, detailing cars and going to concerts with my friends. In 2025, my goal is to challenge myself to go bigger in my riding to showcase a true “surf style”.  I plan to compete at several tour stops this season with the goal of qualifying for an invite to worlds to battle my buddies for the top spot.
