(December 18, 2024) Loomis, CA—Each year, Operation Wake Surf travels the country giving military veterans, first responders, doctors and nurses the opportunity to get out on the water for a day of wake surfing, community and camaraderie. Serving those who serve us is no small feat and takes a village of support. LIG Rentals and Centurion Boats are proud to present the Operation Wake Surf Salute to Service Extravaganza being held on January 25, 2025, at the Houghtby Ranch in Loomis, California where attendees will have the opportunity to support this non-profit organization.
Over the years, Operation Wake Surf has utilized the healing power of water as an opportunity to give back to many heroes with the help of generous contributions that come in from across the country. At the Salute to Service Extravaganza, six heroes who have had the opportunity to spend time on the water with OWS will be in attendance and will share the impact OWS has had on them.
One of the six is Brian Tremain, an Air Force Veteran. Tremain spent 15 years in the Air Force as an Air Medical Evacuation Technician. In his role, Tremain flew wounded warriors all over the world to areas with a higher echelon of care. Fast forward to 2019 and Tremain is a Veteran working in Denver.
“In 2019, I was working part time for an organization out of Denver that had a podcast where Robby was on as a guest. Robby left his information and social media accounts at the end so I reached out to him before I deployed in 2020.” Tremain states. “After coming home from deployment, I attended my first 3-day event on Lake Norman. The property we stayed at on the lake was beautiful and the way everything came together was organic.”
During the event, Brian had the opportunity to connect with the Citizen Airmen Magazine, a magazine for Guard and Air Force Reserves. The magazine spotlights Air Force reservists and things they are doing in their personal life. They sent someone to this event to record it and make a video on it. It also was able to bring awareness to OWS and other organizations like it. The representative from the magazine had the opportunity to participate in the event and also made a video highlighting the event.
“It’s great getting to see people in an atmosphere that cultivates a natural vulnerability because they are around others who have been in their shoes, knowing where they’ve been or what they’ve seen. When you put people like that in the same boat it cultivates healing for everyone.” Brian shared about the OWS event.
