(July 13, 2026) Angels Camp, CA–Centurion Boats employees Alexis Machado and Devin Wahlberg passed the handle at New Melones Lake Marina’s annual Hyperlite Wake Day on Saturday, June 20, delivering a full day of free wakeboarding and wake surfing instruction, on-water experiences, and community engagement.
Running all day, the event offered lessons across four sessions, with 10 boats on the water and four participants per session, giving riders hands-on instruction and time to develop their skills.
Centurion employees Alexis Machado and Devin Wahlberg as well as Team Centurion athlete JB O’Neill, took participants out on the water in a 2027 Ri230, providing a premium wakeboarding and wake surfing experience and showcasing the performance of the Centurion brand. The Centurion team passing the handle gave attendees a unique opportunity to ride behind a world-class surf and wake boat while learning directly from our very own pro athlete and the people at the factory who build our boats.
The Centurion team started their day with the Magruder family. The Discovery Bay based family was familiar with wake boarding and wanted to spend the day together doing what they love. The whole family tried new tricks including dad who tried a backflip for the first time! The family is no stranger to Centurion as they used to take lessons with Team Centurion rider, Chad Lowe. After a successful day at New Melones Lake, the Magruder family is considering Centurion as their next .
The day was full of firsts. In the second group that the Centurion team took out on the water, one of the participants landed a backflip for the very first time! The entire boat erupted in cheers and smiles absolutely stoked for their friend.
The annual event concluded with an awards presentation recognizing participants, followed by an exciting professional wakeboarding exhibition, where professional riders, including Team Centurion Athlete, JB O’Neill, demonstrated high-level tricks and techniques for spectators.
As a free annual event, New Melones Lake Marina’s Hyperlite Wake Day continues to pass the handle with partners like Centurion Boats, passionate riders, and the local community to celebrate life on the water.
