Fun Fact: The ‘Volunteers’ name derives from the 1,500 troops from Tennessee that fought under General Andrew Jackson against the British at the Battle of New Orleans during the War of 1812.
Team Centurion’s Reed Cole-Tucker and Luke Hutcherson earned a lofty first and second place respectively in the Men’s Pro Skim division. They were joined by a couple new competitors in this division with Centurion Men’s Pro Surfers Sammy Goncalves and Tommy Darnell riding in Skim for the Volunteer Wake Surf Classic. This is the kind of competition that makes the World Series of Wake Surfing so fun!
Team Centurion Female Surfer, Nicole Hudson started the Volunteer Classic strong by winning her heat today. She was followed by Team Centurion Female Surfer, Whitely Stewart. The Pro Female Surf division should have a very competitive final round on Saturday. The Pro Female Skim division will also be a great race to watch as Whitely placed #1 today, followed by Evie Shropshire and Nicole earned a close third. With Team Centurion well represented in today’s results, tomorrow’s final round is sure to bring the heat. Tune in Saturday to witness the competition and the camaraderie.
