(July 18, 2025) Merced, CA—2026 and its model year mark a huge milestone: 50 years of Centurion Boats. From a love story that started in Merced to a global name that is known to go hand in hand with wake surfing, Centurion Boats has spent five decades driven by  industry altering innovation making lives better.

Rick Lee, a race boat enthusiast, fell in love with Pamela and the two were determined to build a future fueled by passion and purpose. Together, they founded Centurion Boats, a name chosen for its strength and spirit, which quickly became known for groundbreaking design and performance.

From launching The Wave, the first dedicated wakeboard boat turned into wake surf boat, to industry-shaping technologies like the RAMFILL ballast system, QuickSurf Pro, and the Opti-V Hull, Centurion has consistently pushed the boundaries of what a towboat can do. In recent years, models like the Ri237, Ri257, and Fi23 have elevated both surf and wakeboard performance. This year’s anniversary models push the user experience to the next level with all new features and exciting new options.

The key to Centurion’s success story is people. In 2014, industry veteran Shane Stillman was recruited by Rick Lee to lead a new chapter of growth in Product Development and Engineering. He was joined by VP of Marketing and Brand Direction, Amy Mauzy that same year. Centurion became a Correct Craft Company in 2015 and Paul Singer, Former President, began to lead the company in early 2016. In 2015, Daniel Indelicato came onboard, rising to President in 2023. Together, this new generation of leadership transformed the company from under 1% profitability in 2015 to over 10% by 2019, proving the power of a culture based on passion and shared purpose.

Beyond profitability, this new generation of leadership is driven by making life better for people they work with and nowhere is more evident than with the employees. From generations of families who work here, grandfathers, dads and sons all working together, to others having long-standing tenure with the company, the value that is placed in employees has created a sense of pride in working here. That pride is infectious, flowing from the factory floor to leadership to dealers and vendor partners to ambassadors and athletes as well as retail customers.

Even more than building boats, Centurion Boats is dedicated to waking waves of positive change. We Wake Waves encapsulates all the amazing efforts our Watersports Warriors partnering service charities and ambassadors have made through events such as faith-based initiatives, Salute to Service, adaptive watersports and much more. But this movement isn’t just limited to big efforts, it also shines a light on the seemingly small efforts of service in tow boating like teaching your kids to surf or your partner to trailer the boat or simply spending time on the water with your family. Even the smallest service related or empowerment action can wake a wave of positive change to make someone’s life better.

From its founding love story to five decades of breakthroughs and the last 10 years of making life better as a Correct Craft company, Centurion is honoring the past with continued innovation staying united in purpose. Join in on the 50th anniversary fun and follow along on our website and social media platforms over the next 18 months as we honor the last 50 years with more innovation and celebration!
