(June 18, 2025) Alexandria, MN – Operation Wake Surf (OWS) hosted 5 heroes at another Centurion Salute to Service (S2S) event on Lake Le Homme Dieu in Alexandria, MN. The event happening just before the Faction Marine SurfMN King of the Lakes wake surfing competition kicks off on Friday, June 20, may have happened under cloudy weather conditions, but the day was anything but cloudy.
The heroes in attendance were two firefighters from St. Paul, MN, an active-duty Green Beret, a United States Air Force reservist, and a police officer from Minneapolis who, with the help of his K9, found the glove and the holster from the suspect accused of murdering a Minnesota Senator and his wife.
The day began at 8:30am sharp in proper OWS fashion: heroes circled up, introduced themselves and shared a bit about their background.
For the next several hours, the heroes had a blast surfing, hanging out and spending some well-deserved relaxation time on the water. Tyler Stewart, Team Centurion athlete, joined the heroes, coaching them and showing them how to properly shred behind a Centurion Ri265. Tyler is a seasoned S2S coach with this being his seventh S2S event during his tenure on Team Centurion.
“The day was incredible. Taking these heroes out on the water and teaching them how to wake surf was an honor. We were lucky to have perfect conditions—it was easily the nicest day of the summer. Watching each of them drop the rope and ride with huge smiles was awesome! It was the perfect MN lake day,” Tyler shared.
After hours on the water, the heroes were treated to lunch at Zorbaz on the Lake by the owner, Kevin, who is a huge supporter of OWS and the World Series of Wake Surfing (WSWS).
The heroes took to the water and spent the rest of the afternoon surfing and making memories. Hosting Salute to Service events before each Centurion World Series of Wake Surfing competition and honoring those who serve our country and communities is one of our favorite ways to Wake Waves alongside local dealers like Faction Marine and nonprofit organizations like Operation Wake Surf.
