The best riders from across the globe will get their shot at a title at Marine Creek Reservoir.
Ft. Worth, Texas (September 30th, 2020) – The World Wake Surfing Championships are back for 2020! This year’s WWSC starts tomorrow, October 1st, and will run until Saturday, October 3rd, at Marine Creek Reservoir in Ft. Worth Texas. The invite only Diamond Level event is the most prestigious world championship in the sport and this year one of the few opportunities for competitors in every division to compete for a world title through a combination of live and prerecorded events. Event organizers overcame a variety of obstacles to ensure that the pinnacle of wakesurfing events goes off with a bang!
This year pros will be pulled by the 2021 Centurion Boats Ri265, the all new model is truly the king of wake surfing boats, with 5850lbs of ballast housed inside the Opti-V Hull the Ri265 displaces more water than comparable models for longer waves full of push. However, the Ri265 isn’t just big for the sake of size, this boat is attacking all areas of innovation simultaneously with thoughtful refinements such as the new Revo Side by Side 12” X 12” Touch Vision HD Dash. The new system brings with it two huge screens that are not only high definition, they are also extremely high functioning. The stereo can now be controlled through the Revo Side by Side screens along with QuickSurf Pro, RAMFILL, ZeroOff speed control and the Silent Stinger Wake Plate. Plus, for the first time ever, this year’s software has real time trip and fuel consumption data, it’s no secret who has the most fuel-efficient ride.
The Centurion Boats pro team will be representing at worlds in full force in multiple divisions with Jarrett Scribner, Nick Parros, Evan Hudson, Nicole Hudson, Chad Hudson, Caitlin Wheeler, Sara Tallon, Zoey Montgomery, Zane Montgomery, Caro Villeneuve, Samuel Goncalves, Reed Cole-Tucker, and Holly Allaire all scheduled to compete during the event broadcast. Not to mention Team Centurion’s several former world champions who are looking for their third, fifth, or EIGHTH title. Conner Burns has won the pro men’s surf division for the past two seasons and is looking for his third straight championship. Ashley Kidd is looking for title number five, after becoming the first female surf-style rider to land a 3-shuv last year you won’t want to miss what she has in store for worlds! And seven time world champion Keenan Flegel will be on site looking for his eighth win at worlds, another title would which would further add to Keenan’s legacy of dominance in the sport.
Locals are encouraged to come out to Marine Creek Reservoir to watch live in small groups. Centurion Boats and the Competitive Wake Surf Association (CWSA) are both committed to the safety of our athletes, staff, spectators and family members.
