(November 14, 2025) Merced, CA–For Steve and Molly Piziali, life on the water has always felt a bit like home. Steve grew up boating, his entire life shaped by days spent behind the wheel, lines in hand and sun on his shoulders. Molly came to the lifestyle later, discovering wakeboarding and wake surfing in her 30s. When the two married five years ago, their shared love of being on the water became one of the threads that wove their family together.

For decades, the Pizialis trusted a single boat brand, one Steve’s family had owned since 1990. It was reliable, sturdy, and had never given them a reason to complain. But as their water sports passion evolved, a new idea began to tug at them: maybe it was time for a boat that could push their surf experience further.

That spark ignited thanks to a few close friends, professional surfers and coaches, who insisted they try a Centurion. “You need to check out the Centurion wave,” they’d said. That comment stuck. Then came the real turning point: a friend on Donner Lake offered up their 2018 Ri237. At first, the Pizialis weren’t overly impressed, Donner’s conditions weren’t ideal, and the boat simply couldn’t show what it could do. But later, when they took the same boat to Bullards Bar Reservoir and set it up exactly right,

“God set it up the right way for us,” Steve joked, the Centurion magic clicked instantly.

The surfing and foiling behind the Ri237 were phenomenal. Molly fell in love with the luxurious touches: the details, the finish, the way everything felt designed with intention. Steve, ever the driver, noticed something else, the control. Fully ballasted, the boat still handled beautifully. The wave? Cleaner, longer, with more push. The transition? Smoother. And the ZZ6 engine power sealed the deal.

From that point on, the Pizialis were hooked.

They almost bought a boat sight unseen from Texas, but a trusted acquaintance intervened and pointed them toward Amy Mauzy, Centurion & Supreme Boats VP of Marketing and Brand Direction, who would become their guide and anchor through the entire process. Once they connected with her, everything changed. Steve and Molly traveled to the Centurion factory, where Amy and Centurion & Supreme Boats Inside Sales Manager Nick Singer walked them through every inch of how their boats are built. They were struck not only by the craftsmanship, but by the culture, the warmth, the intention, even the tickertape sign announcing the morning’s Bible study. It felt honest. It felt like family.

In the end, the choice was easy: the  Centurion Ri230.

They had only two real must-haves: an Ri, and a heater. The Ri230 delivered both and so much more.

Now, with time spent behind the wheel and endless hours in the water, their appreciation has only grown. Steve’s favorite part is the handling.

“Being able to swing around and pick up a rider, it’s so maneuverable.”

Molly loves the screen, the intuitive menus, the user-friendliness that makes her eager to grow her confidence in launching and loading. The adjustability of the wave means they can tailor it to anyone, pros, beginners, family friends, or even Steve as he keeps working on nailing his 360.

Their boat has become a magnet for memorable moments with Steve’s son in college in Chico, their favorite lake sits right between home and campus. Weekend meet-ups have turned into precious family time. Friends and strangers alike stop to compliment the Ri230, even at the gas station. “Everyone who sees it just goes, ‘Wow.’”

The experience has brought more than just performance, it’s brought community. Centurion owners feel like a family, and Amy in particular has made the Pizialis feel seen, supported, and truly welcomed.

If they were to offer advice to anyone considering switching to a Centurion?

“Do it—and don’t look back,” Steve says. “Once you surf behind one, it’s a no-brainer.”

For the Pizialis, the  Ri230 isn’t just a new boat. It’s the next chapter in their family’s story—a chapter filled with bigger waves, tighter bonds, and the kind of days on the lake that stay with you forever.
