08/13/2021 Salute 2 Service Hero Event (North Carolina) – Since 2012 Operation Wake Surf has dedicated their efforts into putting on experiences for our first responders and military personnel. Operation Wake Surf’s mission is to provide an unforgettable and unique experience to first responders and military personnel who keep our communities and country safe.
On June 1st, 2021, Centurion Boats sent two heroes to the Salute 2 Service event taking place in North Carolina. Centurion Boats selected one military personnel and one first responder. Our Heroes that were selected to this event have been through some traumatic events during their services. Most of these heroes go without expressing how or what is going on through their minds.
Operation Wake Surf has dedicated its time and efforts to help open the “blue mindset” for our military veterans and first responders by teaching those to wake surf. By default, Robby Maschhaupt and OWS crew are using the water sport to provide a degree of mental healing.
This event was no different from prior events. Building the comradery with others that are dealing with the similar traumatic events. Officer Kyle Bake expressed, “Words cannot express just how thankful I am to be invited to be a part of Operation Wake Surf.” He continued by saying, “Something about the water that just soothes the soul and heals those internal wounds. For me this was perfect timing!”
