The 5th day of competition commenced with the Under-14 Girls Final behind the Centurion Ri23 at Puerto Escobar in Buenos Aires, Argentina. All the young riders in the final performed at a very high level, setting the stage for an exciting future for the sport. Australia’s Mackenzie Maccarthy (AUS) won the gold medal, narrowly edging out Xu Lu (CHN) silver and Alize Piana (CHN) bronze.

Under-14 Boys produced a new IWWF World Champion in the name of Maxime Roux (FRA), silver medal went to Jamie Huser (SUI) and bronze to Pablo Monroy (MEX).

There was a surprise in the Open Men’s Semi-Finals: David O’Caoimh (IRL) 2017 IWWF European & African Champion and one of the favourites to advance was the first big name rider to go down early in his run followed by another unexpected fall resulting in him missing tomorrow’s final. Nicolo Caimi (ITA) on the other hand was the surprise of the day, advancing to his first ever Open Men’s final in an IWWF World Championship. 2017 World Games gold medalist Shota Tezuka(JPN), 2017 World Games silver medalist Guy Firer, Nic Rapa (AUS) and Cory Teunissen (AUS) performed as expected to advanced to the final.

The Masters Women’s category found Argentina’s Nael Bergara winning the 4th place, , silver medal for Shiu Hester Zee Zee (CHN) and third for Sarah Partridge (GBR) by just 0.22 points. Italy’s Annalisa Di Corato put in a solid performance to win the gold medal.

Veteran’s Men World Champion; Francesco Starita (ITA) produced the performance of his live to win the gold medal. Silver went to Pierliugi Mazzia (ITA) and bronze to Dayle Cartwright (USA).
