The world’s best wake will prove it once again on the sport’s biggest stage.

Abu Dhabi, UAE (September 19th, 2019) – In just two months the city of Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates, will host the 2019 IWWF World Wakeboard Championships. Hosted by Abu Dhabi International Marine Sports Club (ADIMSC), this year’s competition will take place November 19th to the 23rd and will feature the best wakeboarders in the world in five age-group categories for both men and women (14 & Under, 18 & Under, 30 & Over, 40 & Over and Open). The 2020 Centurion Ri237 will pull the event, the model’s third consecutive year doing so. This unique distinction highlights the world’s best qualities in the Ri237’s wave, wake, and ride. It’s these factors that have won the Ri237 ‘best of both worlds’ honors with the model serving as the official towboat of the 2019 World Wake Surf Championship and the 2019 IWWF World Wakeboard Championships.

ADIMSC offers a superb venue for spectacular marine sport action between its base on the Breakwater and the Corniche in the UAE capital. Since 1993 the club has provided a strong organizational base for a wide range of marine sports events and activities which have added to Abu Dhabi’s status as a world-class sporting destination. The club is one of the Middle East’s leading venues for marine sports events at local, national, regional and international level, having hosted rounds of the UIM F1 H20 World Championship, the UIM Class 1 World Powerboat World Championship, the XCAT World Series, and of course the IWWF World Wakeboard Championships.

This year competitors in each division will compete for individual IWWF World titles, in addition each national team will be competing for the overall team championship. Individuals in the Open categories will also be competing for the $50k cash purse. Centurion Boats team wakeboarders Adam Fields, David O’Caoimh, Dallas Friday, and Taylor McCullough all hope to bring home titles for their respective National Teams.

Nuno Eca, IWWF World Wakeboard Council Chairman, had this to say, “We are excited to have Centurion towing another edition of the IWWF World Wakeboard Championships, this time in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The world’s best riders, representing their countries, will be thrilled to get behind the Ri237 again so they can ride at their maximum potential to win individual and team overall titles.”

Amy Mauzy, VP of Sales and Marketing for Centurion Boats commented, “We are excited to have another opportunity to tow the 2019 IWWF World Wakeboard Championships. We extremely value our relationship with the IWWF as well as the continued chance to work with their great organization. Additionally, this type of event gives us a global stage to showcase the dominant performance of Centurion Boats’ wake. We’re excited to see this year’s action and look forward to continuing to support these types of events in the future.”
