The United States has about 250 fresh-water lakes that are known to have surface areas of 10 square miles or more, this multitude of options gives you plenty of variety in where you could plan your next watersports excursion. Here at Centurion we’ve seen quiet a few lakes across the beautiful USA below are some of our favorites:
Lake Tahoe

Lake Powell
Lake Powell is a reservoir on the Colorado River, straddling the border between Utah and Arizona. The lake is one of the most well trafficked spots on the list hosting over two million guests every year. The scenic body of water is known for it’s beautiful red rock environment with over 90 canyons through the lake offering an incredible backdrop to any watersports discipline. The lake has become a tourist hotspot for a reason, Lake Powell is something you just have to see for yourself.

Possum Kingdom
Possum Kingdom is a reservoir on the Brazos River located primarily in Palo Pinto County Texas. The lake sits where the Brazos River cuts through the Palo Pinto Hills forming a beautiful canyon with big cliffs in an area of the lake dubbed ‘Hells Gate’. It’s beautiful spot to spend the day engaged in all sorts of watersports action.

Lake Chelan
Lake Chelan is a narrow, 50-mile long lake in Chelan County, north-central Washington. One end of the lake is located deep in mountainous scenery while the other appears more like a desert, making it one of the most unique places to ride in the Evergreen State. With its max depth clocking in at 1,486 feet Lake Chelan is the third deepest lake in the United States, and the 26th deepest in the world.

Big Bear Lake
Big Bear Lake is one of California’s most historic spots this side of Tahoe. The snow fed reservoir is in the San Bernardino Mountains on the eastern outskirts of southern California’s metropolitan cities. Although not nearly the deepest lake on the list (Big Bear Lake’s deepest section comes in around 72 ft) the lake offers pristine waters perfect for a day of fun in the sun.

Lake Crescent
Lake Crescent is another deep lake located in the state of Washington. Nestled in the mountains of Olympic National Park, Lake Crescent’s maximum depth is around 650 ft. Thanks to a lack of nitrogen in the water the lake is known for its distinct blue colors and exceptional clarity. Making it a perfect place to spend the day on the boat.

Redfish Lake
Redfish Lake is an alpine lake deep within the mountains of central Idaho. It’s located in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area between the Sawtooth Mountains in Custer County, south of Stanley. The lake is an Idaho favorite as locals from all over the state venture up during the summer to enjoy temperate weather and beautiful scenery. Redfish Lake offers perfect waters for water sports of all disciplines. This hidden gem is one you won’t want to miss.

Bear Lake
Bear Lake is another lake on the list know for its incredibly blue waters. Located in Utah the body of water is a 250,000-year-old natural freshwater lake that sits squarely between the states of Utah and Idaho. At about 109 square miles in size the lake is known as the ‘Caribbean of the Rockies’ thanks to its unique turquoise colors that appear due to the refraction of limestone deposits suspended within the lake.
