(January 28, 2025) Loomis, CA—The Salute to Service Extravaganza presented by LIG Rentals and Centurion Boats held Saturday, January 25, was a resounding success. With over 200 people in attendance, the evening was the picture-perfect setting of camaraderie and community. With the support of organizations like Shine with Purpose, Knot on Call and Mello Marine, along with emcee Robi Quick, Operation Wake Surf secured the funds needed to provide first responders and military personnel with unforgettable and unique experiences on the water utilizing Centurion boats.
Sacramento Kings tickets, trips to Mexico, and Nascar tickets were a few of the high dollar auction items that were sold at the event in Loomis, CA. With the generous donation of these gifts from LIG rentals, local organizations and even professional athletes a significant amount of money was raised for Operation Wake Surf’s 2025 season.
“With the money raised this weekend, Operation Wake Surf will be able to host over 300 heroes behind our Centurion Ri at 12 events across the country stress free this year.” Robby Maschhaupt, Founder and President of OWS shared.
Mello Marine, the Sacramento area Centurion dealership, was an integral part of the event. Payam Mokhar, Sales Manager at Mello Marine tended to the 7 Centurion boats in attendance that were available for guests to check out. Operation Wake Surf pulls heroes each season with a Centurion boat, so it was fitting that there were so many Centurions present at the event.
“When it comes to things like this [OWS event], I’m more than happy to do whatever I can. It’s things like this that make me grateful for what we do.” Payam Mokhar, Sales Manager at Mello Marine, shared about his experience helping with the S2S Extravaganza.
A highlight of the event was getting to hear from actual heroes that have been positively impacted by Operation Wake Surf. Dakota Farrow, Air Force, Alejandro Jaurequi, Army, Brian Tremain, Air Force, and Josh Hotaling, Marines shared their stories about serving our country and the impact OWS events have had on them since coming back to civilian life. Brian Tremain shared a sentiment that life is like a circle. There will be highs and there will be lows, but the key is to strive for those highs and not to stay in the low for too long.
Hearing from all the heroes in attendance was moving for the audience and a reminder of why we all came together to support Operation Wake Surf.
“I’m beyond grateful to everyone who made this event happen. For the first time since OWS began, we get to pull heroes without the stress of finances.” Robby stated.
