Back to Back! Centurion Boats Wins NMMA Marine Industry Customer Satisfaction Index Award For The Second Straight Year

Centurion Boats is honored for capitalizing on opportunities to make lives better.

Miami, FL (February 14, 2020) – Today Centurion Boats was awarded the 2019 Marine Industry Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) Award for excellence in customer satisfaction by the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA). Awards recipients were acknowledged Friday, February 14th during the Innovation Breakfast at the 2020 Progressive® Insurance Miami International Boat Show®, presented by West Marine. This is the second year running that Centurion has received this award, the company is one of just nine in its segment to receive the prestigious honor.

The Marine Industry CSI Awards honor boat and engine manufacturers who actively measure customer satisfaction and pursue continuous improvement to better serve their customers. Award recipients achieved an independently-measured standard of excellence of 90 percent or higher in customer satisfaction over the past program year, based on information provided by customers purchasing a new boat or engine during the period between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2019.  Participating manufacturers must survey all new boat buyers during this period. For this reporting period, the program surveyed 158,335 customers.

In reference to the honors Amy Mauzy, VP of Sales and Marketing at Centurion Boats Stated, “We are so honored to receive this distinction again for Centurion Boats, but the real reward is every Centurion boat owner who's lives we have the opportunity to make better. What To Look For When Buying A Wake Boat

Know what to look for when you’re ready to buy with tips from former wake surfing world champion Keenan Flegel.

Buying a wake boat can be a big decision, for many people it’s also the realization of a dream come true. There are a lot of choices out there and narrowing it down to your perfect boat can be overwhelming. If you’re in the market for a wake boat be sure to keep these key tips in mind so you can ensure you find what’s right for you.

If you are new to boating or new to watersports, it’s very important to get out on the water at least a few times before you begin your search. Try as many different watersports as possible to get a better idea of what you’re going to be spending the most time doing on your new boat. You may or may not know that wake boats can be engineered for different watersports, some boats have hulls designed specifically for wake surfing and wakeboarding while other boats have hulls designed specifically for waterskiing.

Once you have a good idea of how you want to use the boat and what you will need it to do then your search can really begin. If you like to waterski, tube, and kneeboard you will probably want a boat with a flatter, more traditional hull. You also would likely want a lighter boat that still has some internal ballast when needed. If wake surfing or wakeboarding is more your speed you should focus on two things; internal ballast and hull design.

The size and power in your wake / wave come from the water displacement of the boat. For the best wake surfing or wakeboarding experience you want to look for a boat with a lot of internal ballast to weigh the hull down further into the water, therefore creating bigger or longer waves and wakes. Additionally, you want to look for a Deep-V hull that will ride deeper in the water than flat or round ski hulls, this creates more natural push and gives you a a fully surf-able wave rather than having a single sweet spot just off the back of the swim step.

A Deep-V hull brings a with it a few additional advantages, first, it will give you a smoother ride in rough water as it cuts through waves instead of bouncing over top of them like flat or rounded ski hulls. Second, it provides better fuel efficiency because it cuts through the water rather than pushing against it.

When it comes to ballast there are a few things to consider besides total weight. The first thing is the placement of the ballast. If the ballast is all put right into the back of the boat, the boat is going to have a lot of bow rise (nose up in the air) which makes it hard for the driver to see and burns more fuel. The ballast should be spread through the boat with a bit extra in the rear. Ballast fill times can also be a major question because the time you spend waiting could be spent riding and having fun. Centurion Boat’s RAMFILL ballast can help mitigate these concerns with fill times as low as 90 seconds.

If you are a wakeboarder you should ask how long the boat takes to get up on plain when it’s fully weighted. If you like to wake surf you should make sure that the boat has some sort of system to switch the wave from one side to the other and a way to adjust the steepness of the wave. Settings to adjust wave steepness and length can be crucial to customizing waves for different riders, people of different skill levels, sizes, and styles will often prefer different types of waves. If you have a lot of people that are frequently out with you surfing or boarding you may want to ask if the boat has the ability to save specific settings as a 'rider profile', so next time you ride you can achieve each individual's perfect setup with the push of a button.

If you plan to keep your boat for a while you’ll certainly want to consider hull construction, engine make, and warranty. Hulls featuring unibody vacuum infused construction will typically offer the most longevity and strength. Depending on the size of your boat you may want to go with a more powerful engine to help increase fuel efficiency and torque. Warranty lengths can vary, but new Centurion Boats come with a lifetime limited warranty on the hull and a five year engine warranty through PCM Engines.

These are just a few points to consider, but the best way to find out which boat is best for you is to try them all. Sign up online or contact your local dealer to arrange a demo. Whoever takes you out on your demo will appreciate if you show up prepared with things that you want to see, know, and ultimately compare. You wouldn’t buy a car without a test drive, it shouldn’t be any different with a boat.

Centurion Boats Visits Local Retirement Community

Employees shared crafts and swapped stories with area seniors

Merced, CA (January 31st, 2020) – Last weekend employees from Centurion Boats volunteered at the Hampshire Retirement Community to visit with residents for an afternoon of arts and crafts. The Hampshire is a Holiday Retirement Living Community located in Merced, CA. The community caters to elderly individuals offering independent living with all inclusive amenities and services.

Saturday afternoon from 10am to 12pm seven members of the Centurion team visited with residents in small groups where they swapped stories and created Valentines Day wreaths in an arts and crafts session. Conversation was lively as both employees and residents alike enjoyed each other’s company for a few hours of fun.

This was the fourth year that Centurion Boats has partnered with the Hampshire in one of the organization’s many efforts to make lives better throughout the local community. As a Correct Craft company making lives better is a paramount value at Centurion Boats and this partnership is just one of the many service opportunities employees can volunteer for throughout the course of the year. Other volunteer opportunities include Habitat for Humanity projects, lake clean up days, the annual lake day at Camp Sunshine Dreams, Toys for Tots, Christmas with Dignity through the Winton Life Line Community Center, the annual Correct Craft service trip, and more.

When asked about the visit President of Centurion Boats Paul Singer said, “We have been going to the Hampshire for four years now and with each visit our team feels a renewed sense of spirit. Spending time and swapping stories with residents can often mean more than we ever know,”

When asked about the partnership Event Coordinator Shell Buchner had this to say, “We’re looking forward to our next visit in May! During that visit we’ll be participating in ‘bean bag baseball’, in fact one of our favorite residents mentioned they’ll be gunning for us!”

Evolution of the wake boat promo

Centurion AR RAMFILL Application comes to the Apple App Store

Download Centurion’s Augmented Reality RAMFILL App Today.

Merced, CA (January 28, 2020) – Centurion’s exclusive RAMFILL ballast is comprised of two sub-floor tooled-in tanks that fill with as much as 2650 pounds of water in as little as 90 seconds. That’s a minute and a half to deliver exactly the wakes you want, whether beginner or seasoned pro. Over a ton of weight for better waves and wakes in less than two minutes. This winter we created an AR mobile application for Apple devices (iPhone / iPad) that intends to visually show how RAMFILL works in an augmented reality environment. Essentially, the app provides you with X-Ray vision, showing how RAMFILL fills internally inside any Fi23 or Fi25 (although the app was built specifically for the Fi23 and Fi25 it can be used on any Centurion model, however, other models may not display exactly as intended).

Save and print the emblems below then follow the steps to use Centurion AR today! Chose the emblem that contrasts with your hull color, for instance, if you have a Fi model with a white hull, select the red emblem, or if you have a Fi model with a red hull, select the white emblem.

Centurion AR RAMFILL Detailed Instructions

Step One: Downloading the app
The app is available to download for free from the iOS App Store by searching “Centurion AR.”

Step Two: Device Compatibility
The app is only compatible with iPhones (6S or later) and iPads (2017 or later).

Step Four: Emblem Placement
One of two emblems must be used in conjunction with the app. The emblem can appear on a static cling, a sticker, a cut out, or another 1.5” x 3.5” format. You can print and cut out the emblem above to use with your own model.

The emblem should be placed on the STARBOARD SIDE of the swim platform (NOT the port side). The emblem must be carefully placed so that it lines up with the bottom edge of the swim platform face. It should NOT be tilted at an angle.

The emblem should NOT be placed anywhere else on the boat, including the angled faces of the swim platform.

The app will function the same with both the red and white emblems. The chosen emblem color should contrast with the hull color. For example, the white emblem should NOT be used on a white hull.

Step Five: Launching the App
If using the app for the first time, you will first be prompted to grant access to your device’s rear camera. You must allow this or else the app will not function.

Step Six: Device Orientation
With an iPhone, the app may be used in either portrait or landscape mode. The UI will automatically rotate (as long as Portrait Orientation Lock is Off). With an iPad, the app may only be used in portrait mode.

Step Seven: Starting the Experience
Each time the app is opened, it will prompt the user to point the camera at the emblem. Move your device so that it is within 6-12 INCHES of the emblem. You must point the camera DIRECTLY at the emblem. Move the camera closer if the emblem is not detected. Once the emblem is detected, the UI elements will disappear and the experience will immediately start.

Step Eight: During the Experience
Once the emblem has been detected, you don’t need to continue pointing your camera at the emblem. Step back, walk around or even into the boat. The app experience doesn’t require any user interaction; it will run on its own for approximately one minute then end. Make sure to walk SLOWLY around the boat so that the digital content stays in place relative to the physical boat. The boat hull (especially metal flake colors) may confuse the app because of its reflective nature. If the digital model becomes offset from the boat for any reason, simply point your camera at the emblem again so the app can “get its bearings” (this won’t interrupt or restart the experience).

Step Nine: Restarting the Experience
If you wish to restart the experience and the animations, you must FORCE CLOSE the app first and reopen it. On a device with a home button, double-click the home button and swipe upward to close the app. On newer iPhone and iPad models, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause while still pressing the screen. Then use a quick swipe upwards to close the app. Reopening the app will require you to point your camera at the emblem again.

Correct Craft Celebrates 95 Years of ‘Making Life Better’

ORLANDO, FL (January 22, 2020) – In 2020 Correct Craft began celebrating 95 years of Making Life Better. Since 1925, Correct Craft has operated as the world’s recreational boating leader. Today, Correct Craft is an industry leader in tournament inboard, freshwater fish, saltwater fish, utility and recreational boats, as well as marine propulsion, watersports parks and innovation. Correct Craft is an industry-driving organization that is focused on people, performance and philanthropy.

Bill Yeargin, President and CEO of Correct Craft stated, “Correct Craft is honored to have served millions of boaters across the globe, helping them make almost a century of memories with their families and friends. Our amazing team has driven industry leading growth and innovation while never losing sight of ‘Making Life Better’ for our customers, dealers, employees and everyone with whom we interact!”

Yeargin added, “Correct Craft has grown from a small company to a global organization with multiple boat and engine brands, three waterparks and a subsidiary devoted solely to innovation. Our team realizes this success is built on the shoulders of many great people who have gone before us and we are committed to continuing to honor their legacy with excellent products.”

Yeargin concluded, “Finally, our Correct Craft team is honored to use our platform to serve our industry and others around the world. I have traveled the globe with our team to build homes, work in orphanages, fight human trafficking and in many other ways serve those who we can help. We are working to help companies in our industry optimize their organizational culture by using our influence in Washington D.C. and state capitals to look out for those who enjoy being in, on, under or near water. We are committed to use our platform and influence in a never-ending effort at ‘Making Life Better.’”

Correct Craft’s history has a unique defining story. Correct Craft solidified its name after hearing a radio advertisement explaining “the correct heel for your shoe,” W.C. Meloon thought, why not “the correct craft for you?”

During the Second World War, Correct Craft opened a second plant in Titusville, Florida in 1942 to manufacture boats through government contracts for the war effort.

In the early 1960’s Correct Craft fought through bankruptcy and started its world renowned Nautique brand.

In the 1970s, Correct Craft produced an array of runabouts, cuddy-cabin and center console models including the Southwind, Martinique, Cuddy Nautique, Fish Nautique, Bass Nautique, and Ski Nautique.

In the 1990s, Correct Craft invented a tower to add even more height to extreme water sports. The patented Flight Control Tower, combined with factory installed ballast tanks, revolutionized the wakeboard boat market and led to the creation of the Air Nautique.

In 2005, construction began for the Correct Craft Headquarters located on the outskirts of Central Florida. In September of that year, Bill Yeargin became President/CEO of Correct Craft, marking the beginning of a new strategic direction for the company.

In 2010, following the Great Recession, Correct Craft began execution of a new growth strategy that resulted in the acquisition of the following companies:

Orlando Watersports Complex – 2012
Pleasurecraft Engine Group – 2014
Bass Cat and Yar-Craft – 2015
Centurion and Supreme Boats – 2015
SeaArk Boats – 2016
Miami Watersports Complex – 2017
Bryant Boats – 2017
Watershed Innovation – 2018
Velvet Drive – 2019
Parker Boats – 2019
Merritt Precision – 2019

Since its beginnings of building a variety of crafts ranging from powerboats to race boats and even sailboats, Correct Craft has been leading the marine industry in innovation. Today, Correct Craft remains dedicated to growing its current brands and producing premium products that bring enjoyment to families around the world.

Colorado based Centurion dealer expands to the Denver area.

Denver, Colorado (January 9th 2020) – The world’s best wave has found its way to the Mile High City of Denver. Centurion Boats is proud to announce that this April local Colorado dealer Island Lake Marine will be opening a second location at Pelican Bay in Cherry Creek State Park (4800 S Dayton St, Greenwood Village, CO 80111).
